Intro by General Presbyter Melana Scruggs

The Interim Unified Agency, the joint agency created from the Office of the General Assembly and the Presbyterian Mission Agency, has decided to end all mission co-workers positions and find a different way to stay connected with our global partners that will not include a physical presence. For many years Peace River Presbytery has supported the work of Dan and Elizabeth Turk in Madagascar with giving directly from the presbytery and also from individual churches and members. I spoke with Elizabeth last week and they plan to remain in Madagascar continuing the work they are doing. Their global partner has been clear that they want them to do so and that there is still much work for them to do there. The presbytery will continue to support the Turks from the budget of the presbytery. Elizabeth shared with me some ways churches can also continue to support their work and their presence. You can see her suggestions below. If you have questions, please feel free to email me at melana@peaceriverpresbytery.org.
