Misión Peniel Farmworker Ministry

Misión Peniel began as a pastoral ministry of charity and service, providing food, clothing, fellowship and emergency supports to farmworkers in Immokalee, Florida in September 2006. At that time it was an extension of Beth-El Farmworker Ministries. When economic constraints made it difficult to continue to support this work through Beth-El Farmworker Ministries, a new covenantal partnership with the Peace River Presbytery of the PCUSA was envisioned and Peace River churches met in the fall of 2013 to determine if sufficient dedicated support was available to continue this work independent of its previous structure but somehow linked to the work and mission of what God is doing in the Peace River Presbytery and the PCUSA.

Cedarkirk Camp & Conference Center

We strive to create a place free of distractions, where conversation around the dinner table, canoe trips on the river, and walks in the woods revive and feed your spirit. Our facilities are used for retreats, meetings, conferences, leadership training, camping, outdoor experiences, and more. We serve a variety of church related groups, family reunions, public and private schools, community service agencies, and non-profit organizations.

About Dan and Elizabeth Turk’s ministry:
“We are excited about working with the Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar (FJKM) in its ministries of healing and hope,” write Dan and Elizabeth Turk.The Turks serve with the PC(USA)’s partner church, FJKM, as it ministers to the population in the areas of health, environment, agriculture and safe drinking water. FJKM believes that Christian witness should include ministry both to the physical and spiritual needs of God’s people and care for all of God’s creation. Dan and Elizabeth work as advisors to FJKM in the fields of environment and health, respectively.

The Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance Mission and Vision:
To eliminate substandard and overcrowded rental housing for farmworker families and other low-income residents of Immokalee. The vision of the Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance is that farmworker families and other low-income residents of Immokalee have access to secure, affordable, hurricane-resistant rental housing that strengthens the community by fostering health, education, dignity and financial stability.
