Come learn about Cuba and our Presbyterian Partners!
All are invited to one of two opportunities to meet and hear Rev. Ary Fernandez Alban and Rev. Beidy Casas Aragon, pastors of Central Reformed Presbyterian Church in Matanzas, Cuba. Ary and Beidy will share about what life is like in Cuba, about the ministries of their churches and about the impact of their efforts in the local community.
This is a rare chance and a wonderful opportunity to learn first-hand about Cuba, the role of the church in Cuba, and about U.S. partnerships with churches there.
Peace River has a Presbytery-to-Presbytery partnership with their Presbytery, and five of our congregations are actively engaged with church-to-church partnerships with five of their congregations. There are three more Cuban congregations seeking Peace River churches to partner with.
All are welcome – those who are already engaged in partnerships as well as those who are interested in learning more about how partnerships work.
Please e-mail Alesia to RSVP if you can come.

A bit more about Ary and Beidy:
Both of these ordained ministers have been employed by the Presbyterian Church of Cuba; Pastor Fernandez since 1999 and Pastor Casas since 2000. They are deeply committed to their Cuban community and are actively engaged in ministries for senior citizens, for special needs children, and for youth. Pastor Fernandez holds a PhD in Theology, and Pastor Casas, a Doctor of Ministry, both from the University of Toronto, Canada. Pastor Fernandez is a professor at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Matanzas. They currently serve the Central Reformed Presbyterian Church of Matanzas as Pastor and Associate Pastor, and are a husband-and-wife team. The couple has been married for more than 20 years and is raising Violeta, Beidy’s niece’s 12-year-old daughter.
